You're looking for the best pizza cutter. And yet, pizza cutters on the whole can be a bit frustrating. They pretty much have a single use—cutting pizza—and it's not like you're going to use one every day, unless you're eating pizza every day, in which case, strong play, but you might want to visit your doctor. Still, they're necessary. For cutting pizza! (And, okay, fine, for cutting pie dough and homemade pasta.) Instead of settling on the first one you see at the grocery store, set your sights on the best. Since the only thing worse than a crowded kitchen drawer is one full of cheap and broken tools, we tested 13 pizza cutters and came away with an absolute favorite for slicing pizza.
This thing is sleek. Buy it and you'll feel like you moved to Napoli to hone your craft and came away with this shiny souvenir that you can wave around in the kitchen, covered in flour and speaking Italian with an offensively awful accent. Seriously, this pizza cutter looks awesome and works really well.
We were surprised by how much we ended up liking this rocking blade design more than the classic wheel with a handle. The long rocking blade allowed for the most leverage to press down hard on the pizza and cut it in half, then in half again with one fell swoop. The blade on this Asdirne rocking blade pizza cutter is razor sharp, meaning it was one of the few pizza cutters that cut through the crust and toppings on the first go. It's super easy to use (not that using any pizza cutter really requires an extreme level of brain power), and the design is as streamlined as it gets. The lack of attachments or moving parts means it's automatically less likely to break. It's essentially a longer, slimmer bench scraper—and you all know how we love a good bench scraper around these parts. Since it's just one long, flat blade, it's super easy to clean. No wheel to spin around, no attachments to scrub under, no handle with weird grippy things to remove grease from.
As usual, we were looking for a tool that was easy to clean. Pizza cutter wheels can get bits of cheese and grease stuck in all sorts of nooks and crannies, so we were looking for a cutter from which it wasn't too difficult to remove that grime.
